Quarantine has me dreaming of dinner parties a bit more than usual… so today, I’m sharing a few of our tables.
Hopefully this can serve as a bit of inspiration with some helpful tips for the day we can entertain again. Think creative centerpieces, vases, unexpected colors, candlelight, colorful glassware, interesting objects and varying heights.
1. Thanksgiving 2018
Beautiful tablescapes are more than just your grandmother’s China and silver these days, although I do love to incorporate mine! Adding vintage China is one of my favorite ways to add color and patterns.
2. Garden Birthday Gathering
I’m a huge fan of color blocking and I think it’s beautifully represented at this Garden Party Birthday Celebration. The variety of flowers help provide texture to this gorgeous tablescape.
3. Thanksgiving 2016
I’m guilty of bringing spring colors into the fall and winter months. An unexpected color palette adds for a fun change to the usual.
4. The Perfect Farm Table
This farm to table dinner was the perfect setting for using potted plants and interesting items as centerpieces. Sometimes you have to think outside of the conventional vases and flowers to create something magical. Although, it’s always a beautiful table at North Corner Haven! This was the opening celebration with family and friends. Head to their website for the video version of this amazing affair.
5. Thanksgiving 2017
I loved the candlelight at our Thanksgiving dinner in 2017. Varying candle heights (especially the extra tall) and a mix of candelabras, candlesticks, and votives add drama and set a celebratory mood.
6. Beautiful Birthday
Here we used a variety of flowers and “vases” from the birthday girl’s collection and my personal collection. A combo of crystal, china and silver added a personal touch to these gorgeous tables.
7. Holiday Dinner 2019
Last year was one of my favorite holiday dinner tables. Party Reflections has a luxurious velvet tablecloth that I mixed with bold and bright patterns of my grandmother’s China. Mixing textures and colors is always a fun way to make a statement.
8. Corporate Dinner
Often tables only really need an accent. Enter the table runner. The perfect way to introduce color and dress up your everyday table.
9. Holiday Dinner 2018
For smaller and more informal gatherings – I love to use glassware as my statement. Over the years I have accumulated a large collection of interesting and unique glassware that I mix and match whenever I can.
10. Cooking for a Cause – Wine Dinner
If you can’t tell by now, tulips are probably my favorite flower, and they also happen to be available at Trader Joe’s pretty much year round. When I don’t have a ton of room on the tables for large center pieces, I love to use as many little vases and tulips as I can possibly fit.
Which is your favorite? Comment below!
How on earth can I choose a favorite when they are all spectacular? But if I have to choose 1 it would be the Holiday 2019. And I am so
fortunate as to have been able to attend your spectacular Thanksgiving presentations each year. Thank you for many beautiful memories.
So many great memories. Here is hoping for more soon!
