Brunch

brunch \ ˈbrənch

Definition of brunch

1. a meal usually taken late in the morning that combines a late breakfast and an early lunch.

Definition from: Merriam Webster

We love a good brunch. To me, brunch is a great excuse to eat a salad for breakfast accompanied by a bloody mary of course.

We are creatures of habit so if we make brunch at home it is bagels, lox and all the fixins, eggs, citrus fruit, bacon, chicken sausage, and cheese grits.

If you add friends – a bloody mary bar and mimosa bar are a must.

If we go out we tend to repeat ourselves and head to the Crepe Cellar. It is consistently good and has something to please the whole family.

The brunch pictured is to celebrate my husband, Bruce’s 50th birthday. He does not like parties for himself or the attention, but we did it anyway. Happy 50th birthday Bruce, we love you!

Happy Birthday Brunch wherever you are.

  1. Seattle and Santa Barbara had so many fabulous places for Brunch! Here in Ajijic, Mexico…no so much! While we have some tasty restaurants of all types…Italian, Thai, Spanish, French, …. there is only one who has brunch available…The ? Avocado Club. And luckily, they offer up good grits, toasted bagels, eggs Benedict, fresh oysters and a nice view of our Lake. If I want a decent Bloody Mary, Russ makes one for me. I fondly remember Phil’s Brown Mary’s…lots of extra Worcestershire sauce. Happy Birthday to Bruce! ?? P.
